How can I upload a file to a Sharepoint Document Library using Silverlight and client web-services?

Most of the solutions I've come across for Sharepoint doc library uploads use the HTTP "PUT" method, but I'm having trouble finding a way to do this in Silverlight because it has restrictions on the HTTP Methods. I visited this http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd920295(VS.95).aspx to see how to allow PUT in my code, but I can't find how that helps you use an HTTP "PUT". I am using client web-services, so that limits some of the Sharepoint functions available. That leaves me with these questions: Can I do an http PUT in Silverlight? If I can't or there is another better way to upload a file, what is it? Thanks

I want to use VI-like commands in Web Browser?

I love VI and I'm looking for a plugin of some sort that would allow me to input text in my browser (preferably Firefox or Chrome) using VI commands. It would save me an immense amount of time and at the same time when writing long emails. Can anyone think of any plugins that would allow me to do this? I was hopeful with Vimperator (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4891) but after installing it, I realized that it didn't do the one VI think I wanted to do: create or edit a text box with VI commands. It just allowed me to do Browser commands and scrolling in VI-style.

Cannot create a VSPackage for Custom Editor in Visual Studio 2010

I followed the tutorial here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/Video/bb735001 which is for VS2005. I am on VS2010. After the Wizard finished, it says A project of same name is already opened in the solution. What's the matter? I tried several times changing the name of the vspackage to be sure but always same result. Update: I tried in Visual Studio 2008 and it doesn't occur so it's really a bug in VS2010 ! Did someone try ?

Hi everyone, We're working with a new codeigniter based application that are cross referencing different PHP functions forwards and backwards from various libraries, models and such. We're running PHP5 on the server and we try to find a good way for managing errors and status reports that arises from the usage of our functions. While using return in functions, the execution is ended, so nothing more can be sent back. Right? What's the best practice to send a status information or error code upon ending execution of actual function? Which function or code helps to bind the file handle in that example? Hello. How can I query RowNumber with Entity Framework? What is the best approach to manipulate assets in Drupal from .Net application?

I'm beginning work on a project that will access a Drupal site to create nodes on the site. This includes file uploading, as the project is to allow people to upload pictures en mass to a Drupal site with minimal ado. Note that my application is written in .Net. What I would like to know is the best approach to achieve the same? Based on initial research it looks like there are several options: 1. XML-RPC 2. Custom PHP module deployed in drupal. But, what is the way to invoke it from .Net? 3. Use a cron job to pick up the files from a watch folder. And add a cron_hook in my module to deploy the file.

How do you set up your web server & document's html to correctly serve HTML5 documents?

Maybe I'm an idiot but I don't quite get what goes in the header of my HTML to use XHTML w/ HTML5. Is this still good and we just add the HTML5 tags?: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html dir="ltr" lang="eng" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> Or is it <!DOCTYPE html> or what? Then at A List Apart they say: If you do go with XHTML 5, remember that your server must deliver the documents with a MIME type of application/xhtml+xml or text/xml. Please explain to me as if I was stupid :) what that means in a practical sense? "deliver the documents"? Meaning html? What happens to php? What are the steps required to set up your web server this way?

[PRISM2] Added view does not appear on screen

Why my "mainRegion.Activate(view);" doesn't display the view on screen? It only works if I remove the default view that registered (RegisterViewWithRegion) in ModuleInit.cs though I don't put .Activate() after I added a View. But a problem occurs if I move to other module, and get back to module which default view has been removed, I get blank page. Any clues? Localizing other pages in Settings.bundle

I have other pages within my app preferences which are stored as separate files within the settings.bundle. It has come time to localize my app and I can only seem to get the Root values to localize. I was wondering whether there was a trick? The following image shows that my second screen is stored within a file called "MyPrefs.plist" and I have created a corresponding named file "MyPrefs.strings" in the en.lproj directory. Mirroring the same naming and location as the Root.plist and Root.strings. The values with the Root.plist are converted as expected but not in the extra screen. Is there any trick to localizing secondary screens with the settings.bundle?

Dropdown in Access 2007 parameter query. Why not working

Hello, I want a Access parameter query to ask an user for a value (a location in this case). When I type [Enter location] in the Criteria field it works fine: I get a dialog box (Enter Parameter Value) with a textbox and my text (Enter Location). So far, so good. This works (the result also). But now I want a dropdown/combobox (instead of a textbox ) for the user to pick a location. I made a form and type Forms![Form1]![CmbLocation] in the Criteria field. Like this: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA011170771033.aspx But I still get a textbox (with the reference as textlabel). What am I doing wrong? Has anybody any advice?

Pass logger instance to class

Hi Guys, I'm using a open-source Python library in my project. This library logs a lot of information using the logging class. ...but I can't see the output or log it to file. I know that i would have to create a logger instance and add a file-handler or a console-handler to it but how can i pass this logger instance to the class? Say I have a list of n elements, I know there are n! possible ways to order these elements. What is an algorithm to generate all possible orderings of this list? Example, I have list [a, b, c]. The algorithm would return [[a, b, c], [a, c, b,], [b, a, c], [b, c, a], [c, a, b], [c, b, a]]. How can I map "insert='false' update='false'" on a composite-id key-property which is also used in a one-to-many FK?

I am working on a legacy code base with an existing DB schema. The existing code uses SQL and PL/SQL to execute queries on the DB. We have been tasked with making a small part of the project database-engine agnostic (at first, change everything eventually). We have chosen to use Hibernate 3.3.2.GA and "*.hbm.xml" mapping files (as opposed to annotations). Unfortunately, it is not feasible to change the existing schema because we cannot regress any legacy features. The problem I am encountering is when I am trying to map a uni-directional, one-to-many relationship where the FK is also part of a composite PK. Here are the classes and mapping file... I encountered a problem when I tried to update and existing record. I received a BatchUpdateException and after looking through the SQL logs I saw Hibernate was trying to do something stupid... update COMPANY_NAME set COMPANY_ID=null where COMPANY_ID=? Hibernate was trying to dis-associate child records before updating them. The problem is that this field is part of the PK and not-nullable. I found the quick solution to make Hibernate not do this is to add "not-null='true'" to the "key" element in the parent mapping. SO now may mapping looks like this... CompanyNameEntity.hbm.xml <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-mapping PUBLIC "-//Hibernate/Hibernate Mapping DTD 3.0//EN" "http://www.jboss.org/dtd/hibernate/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd"> <hibernate-mapping package="com.example"> <class name="com.example.CompanyEntity" table="COMPANY"> <id name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <set name="names" table="COMPANY_NAME" cascade="all-delete-orphan" fetch="join" batch-size="1" lazy="false"> <key column="COMPANY_ID" not-null="true"/> <one-to-many entity-name="vendorName"/> </set> </class> <class entity-name="companyName" name="com.example.CompanyNameEntity" table="COMPANY_NAME"> <composite-id> <key-property name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <key-property name="languageId" column="LANGUAGE_ID"/> </composite-id> <property name="name" column="NAME" length="255"/> </class> </hibernate-mapping> This mapping gives the exception... org.hibernate.MappingException: Repeated column in mapping for entity: companyName column: COMPANY_ID (should be mapped with insert="false" update="false") My problem now is that I have tryed to add these attributes to the key-property element but that is not supported by the DTD. I have also tryed changing it to a key-many-to-one element but that didn't work either. So... How can I map "insert='false' update='false'" on a composite-id key-property which is also used in a one-to-many FK?

Fastest implementation of the frac function in C#

I would like to implement a frac function in C# (just like the one in hsl here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb509603%28VS.85%29.aspx) but since it is for a very processor intensive application i would like the best version possible. I was using something like public float Frac(float value) { return value - (float)Math.Truncate(value); } but I'm having precision problems, for example for 2.6f it's returning in the unit test Expected: 0.600000024f But was: 0.599999905f I know that I can convert to decimal the value and then at the end convert to float to obtain the correct result something like this: public float Frac(float value) { return (float)((decimal)value - Decimal.Truncate((decimal)value)); } But I wonder if there is a better way without resorting to decimals...

"digg" button and encoded url :S

Hi! I wrote a php site (it's still a prototype) and i placed a "Digg" button. Placing the button was easy but.... Official manual says "url has to be encoded". I did that with urlencode(). After urlencode, my url looks like this: http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mysite.com%2Fen%2Fredirect.php%3Fl%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.othersite.rs%2FNews%2FWorld%2F227040%2FRusia-Airplane-crashed%26N%3DRusia%3A+Airplane+crashed So far, so good but when i want to submit that url to digg, it is recognized as invalid url: http://www.mysite.com/en/redirect.php?l=http://www.othersite.rs/News/World/227040/Rusia-Airplane-crashed&N=Rusia:+Airplane crashed If i place a "+" between "Airplane" and "crashed" (mere end of a link), then digg recognize it without any problems! Please help, this bizare problem is killing my braincells! P.S. for purpose of this answer urls are changed (nonexisting) because, in original, non-english sites are involved P.S.S. C++ method chaining including class constructor

Hello, I'm trying to implement method chaining in C++, which turns out to be quite easy if the constructor call of a class is a separate statement, e.g: Foo foo; foo.bar().baz(); But as soon as the constructor call becomes part of the method chain, the compiler complains about expecting ";" in place of "." immediately after the constructor call: Foo foo().bar().baz(); I'm wondering now if this is actually possible in C++. Here is my test class: class Foo { public: Foo() { } Foo& bar() { return *this; } Foo& baz() { return *this; } }; I also found an example for "fluent interfaces" in C++ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluent_interface#C.2B.2B) which seems to be exactly what I'm searching for.
