Has anyone migrated from postfix to Exchange and moved saved mails forward? I have been asked to move about 150 mailboxes, and I would rather avoid going down the Outlook/PST route if possible.
Hi,
I seem to have a problem configuring my Microsoft Exchange to send mails outisde of the domain. I have setup my smtp connectors and everything else. I can receive mails but I can't seem to send any. I keep getting #5.5.0 smtp;550 Sender verify failed
Anyone has an idea how I could fix that?
Regards,
Yves
I did this once. I can't recall how to do it anymore AND/OR it works differently in Windows 2008 than it did in Windows 2003. I recall it being an Exchange hosting feature.
I would like users to login with their email addresses instead of only with their domain name.
EXAMPLE:
User: John Doe
User logon name: [email protected]
User logon name (pre-Windows 2000): DOMAIN\jdoe
E-mail: [email protected]
I would like for jdoe to be able to login as [email protected]
Hi,
We're running Server and Exchange 2003 here.
There's a shared calendar which HR keep up-to-date detailing staff who are on leave. I'm looking for a VB Script (or alternate) which will extract the "appointment" titles of each item for the current day and then email the detail to a mail group, in doing so notifying the group with regard to which staff are on leave for the day.
The resulting email body should be:
Staff on leave today:
Mike Davis
James Stead
Any ideas?
hello,
i have exchange server 2007 ,and i want to create two emails for each employee in ex.
[email protected][email protected]
can anyone help me
thanks,
I have a single Exhange account with multiple aliases (e-mail addresses), for which it recieves incoming mail messages. Using "rules" it is possible to have the incoming messages sorted into folders depending on the address they are sent to.
When composing and sending messages from Outlook, the primary address of the exchange account is used in the "From" header. Without adding additional mail accounts (I really only have one), is it possible to learn Outlook about the alias addresses, making them available as "From" addresses when composing new messages?
We are running Exchange 2007 with a mix of Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007. Is it possible to set the Out of Office Assistant so that when OoO is enabled, it sends a reply to every single email the user receives? Also, is there something I can reference that covers the options for OoO such as length of time between replies, etc.?
Thanks!
ok i am a complete n00b when it comes to telephony ...
i was wondering we are beginning to play with exchange 2010 in the office ...
How can i connect a telephone line into the server? so we can ring in and get our emails via phone (we have a spare direct line)
I'm going to guess it's not as easy as sticking a 56k modem into the server?
Cheers

Hello Sir,
I want to know that how do we migrate the emails from exchange server to Linux sendmail.
What are the precautions that we need to take to avoid the data loss?
Thanks,

Has anyone used MS Online Services - Exchange Online in production? I can't find any intelligent reviews about it.
MS is theoretically the best company to host their own software, but what about in practice?
My users primarily access their email through Outlook on their laptops, so I am not looking at Deskless Worker.
ANONYMOUS LOGON and Everyone have the following top level permissions in our Exchange 2003 Server:
Read
Execute
Read permissions
List contents
Read properties
List objects
Create public folder
Create named properties in the
information store
Are these the "default" settings?
In particular, are the "Read" and "Execute" permissions a problem?
We have a simple small business setup, Outlook clients connect to the server on the local network, OWA is used from outside the network for browser and smartphone access.
Thanks
If a user tries to schedule a meeting in the "far" future, where ""far" future" seems to mean "seven or more weeks into the future", no existing meetings show up, and resources (at least) frequently (if not always) show up with the white-with-black-hatching "No Information" indicator in the meeting creation window, but shows up fine if you look at the actual calendar from the main Outlook window.
Is this expected behavior? If so, is there any way to extend how far out Exchange/Outlook will look?
Hi, I have a windows server 2003 where I have to create a MAPI profile to read incoming emails of exchange 2007, using a custom utility.
I googled a lot and seems that there was a way to do it with newprof.exe utility but it is no longer available.
I don't have an outlook license so I need a free way to create MAPI profiles in this server.
Thanks.
David.
I am setting up an Exchange 2010 SP2 for a customer.
However, the server address that the server returns with autodiscover is wrong, as it points to the internal domain (.local) - and not the external address.
How do I change this?
Here's an image to describe what I mean:
It is the upper field that is wrong.
I dont want users to enable the RPC over HTTP-thing, as the users know barely nothing about computers.
Thank you in advance.
We have began using Exchange 2010 in production, with no issues until now. I tried to email my self a link and it does not get received. I get no error or NDA. If I track the message is shows as successfully delivered, but it has not. This happens in OWA and Outlook Anywhere.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
In Exchange 2010, its possible to set a user message that appears in Outlook 2010 above the 'Send' button when composing a new email. Can anyone advise where this is configured?
Thanks, Duncan
I'm doing some massive DB cleanups at the moment. We have two DBs both approaching 400GB and I'm wanting to split the DB's into departments.
To do that I need to know the total size of mailboxes within an OU. I've run this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9796101/exchange-listing-mailboxes-in-an-ou-with-their-mailbox-size but this only gives me a list and I need a combined totalitemsize so know how big I need the new DB's to be.
Thanks

I found out recently that a user with an Android phone is using TouchDown to sync with his Exchange 2003 account. What's the best way of blocking this?
I've been trying to get some information about the MAPI plugin for Evolution - but it all seems to in pieces everywhere, and also mostly a couple of years old.
Anyone had any experience with getting Evolution connecting to MS Exchange via MAPI? Unfortunately, any other connection method (IMAP or WebDAV) is not an option - either because of not being allowed or just unusable.
I seem to have the most unideal server setup so here we go:
Situation: 1 Server (2008 Std), Exchange 2010 (CAS + HUB) and Sharepoint Services 3.0 installed on it.
Mission: To get OWA working at: mail.systems.com and Sharepoint at, intranet.systems.net
Execution: you tell me how, becuase I do not know where to start :(

Our office is closing for the holidays, and I want to setup an auto reply if anyone attempts to email. Rather than get everyone to do it individually I want to set a blanket message on the Exchange 2010 server.
Looking around here I found hub transport rules can be used, but I don't want to send a rejection message, like in this post I want to keep the message but just say that we won't get back to you fora couple of weeks.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Over the weekend our Exchange server was blasted with emails. Using recipient policies in the mailbox manager, how do I remove emails that are in the inbox, but coming from a specific sender (or maybe containing a specific subject?). Perhaps someone has some suggestions for another route to take aside from recipient policies, but that will affectively achieve the same end goal? Any help is much appreciated.
